Course Registration System

Guideline registration period

1. Meet the Deadlines

All courses of all mathematics degree programmes have registration deadlines! The registration deadlines are announced on our SSC homepage and by e-mail. If you do not register within the registration deadline, you will not be re-registered. (Exceptions see below)

2. Swap Groups

Before the start of the course:

It is not possible to swap groups without a swap partner.

1:1 exchange is possible:
Write an email to the SSC with the second student in the CC and with the following details: full surname, first name and matriculation number of both students, name and course number, group number

Both students must have a fixed place in a group!
An exchange is only possible up to 2 days before the start of the course.

From the start of the course:

It is not possible to swap groups without a swap partner.

A 1:1 swap is only possible with the written consent of both course instructors via email!
To do this, write an email to the SSC with the second student and the two lecturers in the CC and with the following details: Full surname and first name, matriculation number of both students, name and course number, group number, forwarded consent of the two lecturers.

3. Re-registration

Re-registration is generally not possible.

4. Late registrations

Late registration is only possible for:

  • Erasmus
  • Late admission after the registration deadline
  • MSc programme
  • Steop still in the recognition procedure

Please contact the SSC (e-mail). Late registration by lecturers is not possible.

5. First unit (except bachelor seminars)

Lecturers:

  • Check the attendance of the students
  • Students will be de-registered in case of absence
  • Students from the waiting list are registered
  • If all students on the waiting list are registered and there are still places available, you can be registered by the lecturer.

6. De-registrations

De-registration is possible without confirmation via u:space within the de-registration period. After the de-registration deadline, de-registration is only possible with the permission of the lecturer.

Further information on the registration system

General information

Registration for courses with continuous assessment (i.e. UE, PUE, SE, PR, VU) is done via u:space.
ATTENTION: Completing a course with continuous assessment requires mandatory registration!

Recommended study path

Places on courses with continuous assessment are allocated on the basis of the recommended study path. If you complete your courses along the recommended study path, this will increase your chances of gaining places on the next courses with continuous assessment. You can see in u:space to what extent you fulfill the recommended study path.

Allocation

The allocation is carried out by the SSC Mathematics after the end of the registration period. You will receive an e-mail to your u:account e-mail address when you have been registered for a course.

Taking up your place

IMPORTANT: in order to take up your place, you MUST be present in the first unit of the respective course (preliminary discussion). If you are not present and do not provide the lecturer with a plausible excuse, you will lose your place and be de-registered.

Waiting list

If courses are in high demand, you may be placed on the waiting list. You can then move up to free or vacant places.

ATTENTION: for moving up to a free place you must be present in the first unit of the respective course. Moving up will be done strictly according to the waiting list rankingOur recommendation: if you have one of the first places on the waiting list, it makes sense to attend the first unit.

IMPORTANT: the lecturer is not obliged to admit more students to the course than the number of places announced!

Explanation of the status in u:space

Detailed explanations of the registration status in u:space can be found in the ABC of terms under ‘Registration status in u:space’.
